Long Time
Wow it has been a long time. Life happens that way sometimes. Now that winter is approaching I should have more time for my mini animals. That and I have been stocking up on scraps of sock yarn by making lots of socks/fingerless mitts! As soon as I have time I will be posting pics of animals that I have been creating in the past few months.

So I made a couple of Cupid Crabs for Sue. I like that one is peachy/pink and one is lavender. They are so cute!! More are to come at some point.
Here is my little whale. I love how cute the spouting water looks. It just add so much!

Happy Valentine's Day with the Cupid Crabs
For Valentine's Day I made little Cupid Crabs. Instead of arrows they give people a little love pinch to make them fall in love.

A horse of course! Some turtles too.
I am still working on my farm animals. This horse is the first one that I have photographed on my new fleece "playmat" that one of my friends made me for my mini animals.
I also made more of my little turtles. I love these, they are my favorites!

New York State Animal and 3 more farm animals.
The New York State animal is the Beaver. I made a blue beaver since it is so cold here at the moment.
Here are 2 little chicks to go with my chicken and nest with eggs. They are very tiny and really cute.
The cow was made because my dad loves cows. The spots were made with a Sharpie. This is one of my favorites and my dad's too.

And in her zoo she had a Chicken . . . E I E I O!
It is time to start the Farm section of my zoo. I made a chicken and a nest with eggs. I never really liked chickens when I was little because they used to chase me at my Great-Grandmother's Farm. This one is so cute though!

Timmy Tiger and a Pink Octopus
This little tiger is made almost exactly like my lion but without the loops. The stripes are drawn on with a Sharpie!
My octopus is pink. I do not really like the color pink(I try to avoid it) but this yarn reminds my of watermelon and I love it!

Animals in Hibernation
Yes for the rest of the year my little animals are going in to hibernation. I have made 19 different animals in less than 2 months. I have also just about run out of sock yarn scraps to make them out of(I make something out of the skein of yarn . . . socks, fingerless gloves, ect before I make any animals) I am going to try to make a few projects over the next 2 weeks so that I have scrap yarn to make the animals in the New Year. So until then, Happy Holidays!

Holiday Penguin
It is that time of year when everyone is going a little nuts with all of the things they have to do with the holidays. So I made a little holiday penguin. It started out just being a regular penguin but, I decided at knit-in that although the penguin is very cute plain, he needed a Santa hat. After I made the Santa hat I was told that he also needed a scarf(thanks guys!).

Young Lion and a Mighty Dragon
Have I mentioned yet that I hate sewing the legs on my little animals? Thank goodness for knit-ins or I would probably have a bunch of legless animals and very few completed ones! My lion was one of the animals that was done in 2 days but it took a week for me to sew on the legs.
The lion is a teenage male lion(his mane is starting to come in but only a little). Think Simba at the end of
Hakuna Matata.
This dragon is a friend for Champy. I was going to make a Nessie but since she will be the same pattern as Champy I decided to make a different friend for Champy. I love my dragon and her wings were a lot of fun to figure out!(I learned how to do the picot bindoff)

Hummingbird with a few Turtles
One of the people from the knit-in last week (I think it was Sally) thought that I should make a hummingbird. So when I had time on Monday I looked on flickr.com to see what hummingbirds looked liked. I liked the looks of the Swallow-tailed Hummingbird. So that is what mine is based on.
Turtles are my favorite animal (I have had a pet Turtle named Fred for 18 and a half years) Although my turtle is a red-eared slider, I decided to make a generic turtle(tortoise?) each have a different colored shell. This is a great way for me to use up my scraps of yarn from the other animals. Each shell takes about 2-3 yards of yarn!

Curious Squirrel
I finished the squirrel last week. However the day after I finished I learned how to spin on a very tiny spindle and have been having so much fun spinning that the little animals have been neglected. As with any squirrel, this one is very curious and is always looking for food. He was kind of annoyed that the penny was not edible!
Also I have put my first pattern up on Ravelry today! It is the seal pattern and can be downloaded here: Sassy Seal

An Armadillo, a Walrus, and a pain in the behind Giraffe
The first is an armadillo in pink. Yes pink, just because I had some. There are plans for a yellow one before christmas(for friends in Texas).
The Walrus is made from the Spinning Room(my LYS) colorway from Periwinkle Sheep. I love this yarn!(I stiil have 22 grams of it left, so there will be more Spinning Room animals.)
I am finally finished with the Giraffe. I love how he turned out, but he was a pain in the behind to make. It took me 9 tries(3 turned out to be other animals) to get him just right. After I had finished him I decided that he needed spots. Therefore I have to go to my Chemistry Lab(better known as the kitchen) and get some food coloring and vinegar out. The spots were easy to make and really make the Giraffe.

EEK! A snake!
Although this looks like your ordinary Icord snake, it has a few Special qualities. It is in fact an Icord snake . . . he just has a few decreases along the way to make him more snakelike.

A very happy Platypus
So I wanted to make a lion . . . ummm . . . clears throat . . . a Platypus, yeah that's what I meant. Actually Alison from knit-in came up with the idea that it could be a platypus. So now this platypus is very happy (she didn't want to be a lion!)
