Hummingbird with a few Turtles

One of the people from the knit-in last week (I think it was Sally) thought that I should make a hummingbird. So when I had time on Monday I looked on to see what hummingbirds looked liked. I liked the looks of the Swallow-tailed Hummingbird. So that is what mine is based on.

Turtles are my favorite animal (I have had a pet Turtle named Fred for 18 and a half years) Although my turtle is a red-eared slider, I decided to make a generic turtle(tortoise?) each have a different colored shell. This is a great way for me to use up my scraps of yarn from the other animals. Each shell takes about 2-3 yards of yarn!
